About the Author
Greg Laurie is the senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside and Orange County in California. Harvest is one of the largest churches in the United States and consistently ranks among the most influential churches in the country. He recently celebrated forty years as the senior pastor. In 1990, he began holding large-scale public evangelistic events called Harvest Crusades. More than five million people have attended Harvest events around the world, and more than 421,800 people have registered professions of faith through these outreaches. He is the featured speaker of the nationally syndicated radio program, A New Beginning, which is broadcast on more than seven hundred radio outlets worldwide. Along with his work at Harvest Ministries, he served as the 2013 honorary chairman of the National Day of Prayer and also serves on the board of directors of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He has authored over seventy books, including As It Is in Heaven; Revelation: the Next Dimension; As I See It; Hope for Hurting Hearts; Married. Happily; Every Day with Jesus; Signs of the Times; Hope for America; and many more. He has been married to Cathe Laurie for forty years, and they have two sons, Christopher and Jonathan. Beautifully done!

I received this book as part of the monthly ministry contribution that I make to harvest, Greg Laurie's ministry. I enjoyed it so much I ordered a copy for a Christmas present for my sister. She has a hard time understanding the bible and Greg Laurie breaks it down and makes it simple to understand the stories. I also noticed that this is the same as the volume 1-3 book that he released previously through Esther. this edition has an additional 200 pages which covers some of the new testament. This book is sold out on Harvest's web site so I ordered it here.

As far as the book is concerned, it is very nicely done. It has silver leaf on the edge of the paper, it very thick paper with a decorative watermark on each page and a blue silky ribbon is sewn in to keep track of where you stopped reading, I am bad about dog earring my pages-sorry purists! It has a material type binding that appears to be stitched but I am not sure. It would make a wonderful gift for someone who needs a little help understanding some of the stories and parables or just enjoy some light reading with a purpose.

Horrible textbook

The author commits wholesale plagiarism from the classic solid-state physics text by Ashcroft and Mermin, but he can't even plagiarize competently -- the book is full of typographical errors. Not worth the paper it's printed on.

Excellent book for beginners as well as for practitioners

"Physics of Condensed Matter" by Prasanta K. Misra is written for the graduate and advanced undergraduate students in physics and related fields. In addition to the standard topics in condensed matter physics, the book also covers several advanced topics covering cutting-edge developments allowing the student to get a flavor of advanced materials not found in typical condensed matter text books. The book is written at a pedagogical manner with a concise treatment and many of the tedious derivations are relegated to the end-of-chapter problems. Overall, it is an excellent book for beginning students and also it can serve as a reference book for advanced practitioners in the field.

For fiction writers, not writers of non fiction. She does not tell you how she makes $10 000

This book does not at all tell you how the author makes $10 000, that appears to be a figure just used to sell this book.
The author is clearly a woman, but calls herself Christian Grey, he of the Fifty Shades of Grey fame. mmmmmm....
Anyway, moving on, this book is written for fiction writers, so no value for non fiction writers.
There appear to be good points for writers of fiction on how to structure your book etc.
At the start she says she is going to tell the readers exactly how she makes her money, but that is not mentioned at all in this book.
I have absolutely no idea how she makes $10 000 selling kindle books, is that $10 000 per book, per month, per year, in total? She does not say.
She says she is a best selling author and is writing this book to help other authors.

While it is designed for fiction writers, it also has some wonderful information about formatting, editing, and marketing that are great for writers of nonfiction also. Another review was upset that she didn't mention how she made her $10,000, but that is not what the book is about. It's about how the READER can make the big bucks. If you read through the book (as opposed to just picking things here and there in it), you will see how following through on all the steps involved, CAN make the reader into a highly profitable writer. She doesn't write for those looking for shortcuts to success. The author takes a straight forward approach and guides the reader through the entire process of writing fiction in the proper sequence. She then continues the process with formatting, editing, and marketing. Both fiction and nonfiction writers will benefit from this book!

Sten Widmalm is Associate Professor and the Director of the master s programme in Development Studies at the Department of Government at Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden.
